Free School for Young Innovators

This summer at IUS, a School of educational content in the field of computer science (mobile application programming) is being organized, within which all participants will be introduced to the basics of modern software engineering in a mobile environment. The school is an ideal opportunity for all those who want to create the next hit mobile application, and have fun doing it, reports the Patria News Agency.

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is organizing the II Summer School of Innovativeness 'GeekFEST 2014', which will be held from August 25 - 29, 2014, at IUS. The school is designed to attract all young, interested high school students from Bosnia and Herzegovina who are eager to gain quality knowledge, and are also excellent students, enthusiasts, and lovers of IT technologies. It is important to emphasize that attending the school is completely free.

This is an opportunity for all participants to attend interesting educational content in the field of computer science. For all participants who are not from Sarajevo, IUS has provided free accommodation and food for the duration of the school. Due to the fact that practical work (practice) is the basis, all participants will develop their own project and present it upon completion. Upon completion, all participants will be awarded an IUS Certificate of Attendance for the Summer School of Innovativeness 'GeekFEST 2014'.

Project coordinator, Assistant Professor Dr. Jasminka Hasić-Telalović, emphasized that BiH is a country where exceptionally talented young people are born.

- Our ultimate goal is to provide them with support in their development and education. We want to recognize and develop their talent. Therefore, we decided to launch a free summer school for young people where they will have the opportunity to primarily educate themselves, and of course, have fun, through socializing with their peers'' - stated Hasić-Telalović.

The sponsors of this project are numerous IT companies from BiH that have recognized the need for this type of education for the development of the IT industry. All interested high school students can apply by Monday, July 14, 2014.
