Free ski school for elementary school students

The Municipality of Centar, led by Mayor Nedžad Ajnadžić, in cooperation with the Public Institution „Center for Sport and Recreation“ and in this school year, is organizing a free ski school for elementary school students from the central Sarajevo municipality, reports Patria.

The project will include about 100 participants from lower-income families, aged between fourth and sixth grade, and 10,500 KM has been allocated from the municipal budget for this purpose.

The Public Institution „Center for Sport and Recreation“, founded by the Municipality of Centar, has been planning quality sports programs for the residents of this municipality for years. One of them is the „Ski School“ project, which will be implemented on Igman. The implementers will be physical and health education teachers, as well as experts in the field of skiing.

The goal of the project is to enable students to spend time in the snow during the winter season in order to perfect the basic elements of skiing, and to strengthen their will, persistence, and determination through competitive activities.

The ski school will be held in January next year, and the first group should head to Igman at the beginning of 2017. The Municipality of Centar will provide ski equipment sets, transportation, sandwiches, and warm drinks for the students during their stay on the mountain.
