Free ski school for 100 students

The Centar Municipality, led by Mayor Nedžad Ajnadžić, in cooperation with the Public Institution „Center for Sport and Recreation“ and in this school year as well, is organizing a free ski school for elementary school students from the central Sarajevo municipality. The project will include about 100 participants from low-income families, aged fourth to sixth grade, and 10,500 KM has been allocated from the municipal budget for this purpose, Patria reports.

The Public Institution „Center for Sport and Recreation“, founded by the Centar Municipality, has been planning quality sports programs for the residents of this municipality for years. One of them is the „Ski School“ project, which will be implemented on Igman or Bjelašnica, depending on the weather conditions. The implementers will be physical and health education teachers, as well as experts in the field of skiing.

The goal of the project is to enable students to spend time in the snow during the winter season in order to master the basic elements of skiing, and to strengthen their will, persistence, and determination through competitive activities. 

The ski school will take place in two shifts, the first from January 9 to 13, and the second from January 16 to 20, 2017. The Centar Municipality has provided 39 sets of ski equipment, transportation, sandwiches, and a warm drink for the students. Departure is planned every morning at 8:30 AM from the large parking lot near the bridge of „Suada Dilberović and Olga Sučić“ (Vrbanja), and return at 3:00 PM.
