The Centar Municipality, led by Mayor Dževad Bećirević, as in previous years, in cooperation with the Public Institution ''Center for Sports and Recreation'', is organizing for this school year a free ski school for elementary school students from the area of the central Sarajevo municipality. The project will include 100 participants from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, aged from fourth to sixth grade, and 10,500 KM has been allocated from the municipal budget for this purpose.
The Public Institution „Center for Sports and Recreation“, founded by the Centar Municipality, has been planning quality sports programs for the residents of this municipality for years. One of them is the project „Ski School“, which will be implemented on Igman. The instructors will be physical and health education teachers as well as experts in the field of skiing.
The goal of the project is to enable students to spend time on snow during the winter season in order to improve their basic skiing elements, and through competitive activities to strengthen their will, perseverance, and determination.
The ski school will take place in two shifts, the first from January 4 to 8, and the second from January 11 to 15, 2016. The Centar Municipality has provided 39 sets of ski equipment, transportation, a sandwich, and a hot drink for the students. Departure is planned every morning at 8:30 AM from the large parking lot near the bridge ''Suade Dilberović i Olge Sučić'' (Vrbanja), and return at 3:00 PM.
