Free skin check: Sarajevans see harmful rays on UV camera for the first time

An educational and entertaining event called „Sunce, ti i ja“ was held at the Thermal Riviera Ilidža, organized by DM company, where a large number of citizens had free dermatological skin checks, reports the Patria news agency.

As Aida Delić-Kadrić, DM's marketing manager, told us, this campaign was created with the desire to inform citizens about the importance of adequate skin protection and the importance of regular dermatological check-ups.

The largest drugstore chain in Bosnia and Herzegovina, DM drogerije, is implementing the social campaign „Djeca sunca“ within which, at popular bathing spots in BiH, they offer citizens free skin checks – says Delić-Kadrić.

Numerous visitors were attracted by the UV camera, thanks to which they had the opportunity to capture their skin and discover what their skin really looks like when exposed to warm but also dangerous sun rays. Incidentally, this camera is the first of its kind in BiH.

How important it is to regularly perform skin checks was emphasized by Zoran Vrućinić, a dermatovenereologist at the Clinic for Skin and Venereal Diseases of the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska Banja Luka.

- Long-term uncontrolled exposure to the sun causes degenerative and malignant skin diseases. It is very important for citizens to understand that skin does not need to be protected only during the summer period, but also that the reflection of sun rays from various surfaces such as snow, sand, concrete, grass, and the penetration of UV rays in cloudy weather should not be neglected – Vrućinić pointed out and thanked for this campaign.

The series of educational and entertaining events called „Sunce ti i ja“ continues on July 5 at the „Aquana“ pools in Banja Luka, on July 12 in Tuzla at the Panonian Lakes, and on July 25 on the beach in Neum.
