BELFAST Konaković spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Johann Wadephul

(Patria) - On the margins of the meeting of foreign ministers within the Berlin Process, held on 9 October 2025 in Belfast, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Johann Wadephul.

On that occasion, Minister Konaković expressed gratitude to Germany for its consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for its strong commitment to the European path of our country. He particularly emphasised the importance of continued German support for reform processes, noting that it is of key importance at a time when Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing internal challenges.

A special part of the conversation was dedicated to economic relations, with Minister Konaković pointing out the importance of Germany as one of the most important trade partners and investors in BiH. Development cooperation was also highlighted, with a focus on energy, climate change and sustainable development.

The Minister also stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina's foreign policy is fully aligned with the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union.

Minister Wadephul reiterated Germany's commitment to the stability of the Western Balkans and the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasised the importance of reforms coming from within, and stressed that Germany remains open to supporting initiatives that contribute to strengthening institutions, the rule of law and societal resilience.

At the end of the meeting, mutual readiness was expressed for the continuation of political dialogue and the intensification of bilateral cooperation, including the planned visit of Minister Wadephul to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
