Begović for NAP: It is important that my children also know what happened in Srebrenica

Goalkeeper of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team Asmir Begović attended today in London the start of the Srebrenica Memorial Week, organized by the Remembering Srebrenica association.

Begović emphasized that it is good for people to educate themselves about the past, to learn what happened in other countries, and added that this is a sign of respect for what happened.

He thanked everyone who joined the campaign of the Remembering Srebrenica association, and also congratulated the organizer of today's commemoration.

- I am glad that I could be part of this commemoration. It means a lot to people in BiH, but also to Bosnians around the world. When I was little, I wasn't really aware of what happened in Srebrenica, but as I grew up, it became clearer to me. I wasn't in the country when it happened and I will probably never fully understand what happened there, but it is important that my children and I know what happened - concluded Begović, who was in London today with his wife.
