Goalkeeper of the BiH national football team and Stoke City, Asmir Begović, left an honest comment on his Twitter profile after the defeat against Cyprus in the first qualifying match for the 2016 European Championship in France, writes the BiH news agency Patria. The match at Bilino Polje ended with a score of 2:1.
- A tough night for us last night. We will all have to improve. I believe in our team and I know it will get better! Let's move on - wrote Begović.
Otherwise, the BiH national team took the lead in the 6th minute with a goal by Vedad Ibišević, only for the Cypriots to equalize in the 45th minute from an unfortunate situation in front of Begović's goal.
In the second half, our players lacked more organization, and the penalty came in the 73rd minute when Cyprus took a 2:1 lead. We had a chance to equalize with a penalty kick, but after the Cyprus goalkeeper saved Miralem Pjanić's attempt, all hopes were dashed.
The next match will be played on October 10th in Wales.
