Begović: We were below our level, congratulations to Ireland

After last night's debacle at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin where the Irish outplayed the BiH national team (2:0) and qualified for the 2016 European Championship, there have been numerous reactions, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The goalkeeper of the BiH national team, Asmir Begović, also commented on Twitter.

- A difficult night behind us. We desperately wanted a win and qualification for the EC, but unfortunately, we were below our level last night. Congratulations to Ireland, I wish them luck - Asmir wrote.

Coach Mehmed Baždarević, as well as the players, were in low spirits after the defeat, and captain Edin Džeko said that they "didn't even play the match".

- The way we played, we got off lightly. The referee called 70:30 for them. That penalty he awarded, he would never give us in his life. We are not better, if we were better we would have won. We are all as a team what we are, we are nothing. I feel sorry for the fans and for ourselves. Who knows if such a chance will present itself again. I don't know what the future holds, there is no national team until next year, now I am only dedicating myself to the club - Džeko said after the match.
