Begić: Foreigners brought Dodik to power, he no longer listens to them and they can't do anything to him

(Patria) - Zlatan Begić, a professor at the University of Tuzla and a DF representative in the State Parliament, was a guest on Hayat TV's 7 Plus show.

Speaking about the proceedings against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he points out that Dodik is trying to render meaningless the systemic institutions that are not under his control, while using those that are to implement his policies, which are great-power and secessionist.

He believes that Dodik should have been held accountable long ago for a series of criminal offenses he committed, which relate to the violation of norms within the legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"His actions can be classified under various forms of criminal legislation, and the question arises as to why the Prosecutor's Office did not initiate proceedings against Dodik earlier. That group systematically violated the rulings of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was not difficult to prosecute him; it is very simple given the notorious facts, and notorious facts do not need to be proven, they are known. It is known to the public in Bosnia and Herzegovina what Dodik has done. It seems that centers of power play a decisive role in our country, because I am deeply convinced that everything Dodik does would not be possible without the tacit or direct support of the international community.

He fit into the policy of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina with such a policy, and he suited them as someone who would discipline the 'Muslims', Bosnians and Herzegovinians who perceive this country as their own. All those who are for Bosnia and Herzegovina have some derogatory name in Dodik's circles. The international community brought him to power, he suited them, and now they cannot control him. The problem is not what he is doing in Bosnia and Herzegovina; the problem is his ties with Russia and Putin. The judiciary is a problem in Bosnia and Herzegovina because it is influenced by various factors. All of this resulted in proceedings that were conducted with unsuccessful outcomes. Everything has rendered the judicial system meaningless, and today we have Dodik mocking the part of the judiciary that is not under his control, but under the control of some centers of power, and proof of this is why Dodik has not been prosecuted yet. He should have been where the sun doesn't shine long ago," he stated.

He adds that the judicial system in Bosnia and Herzegovina has proven to be dysfunctional towards Dodik.

"He is trying to move the proceedings to the part of the judicial system where he believes he has control. Dodik can choose his defense, but I think the essential story is that we have corrupt bottlenecks," he said.

Commenting on Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path and the visit of officials to Brussels, Begić states that it is 'cosmetic surgery for a patient who has suffered a severe stroke'.

"The excursion that was made, about a hundred officials took pictures in Brussels, after which it gave the impression that they did not attend the same meeting at all. I fear that Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to the EU is being used to spruce up a corpse, to create an alibi for handing over state interests and institutions to the enemies of this country. The EU has no Plan A for Bosnia and Herzegovina, let alone Plan B. I don't believe Sattler at all; he has been one of the main actors in activities that directly violated the laws that are being imposed on Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European path. Sattler is one of those who put the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights in a safe, locked them up, and threw them away somewhere," he assessed.
