Begić: EU must take measures against Várhelyi for abuse of office

(Patria) - Democratic Front representative in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Zlatan Begić, commented on information regarding an agreement between the EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi and the authorities of the RS entity, concerning the holding of a special session of the NSRS at which a series of conclusions were adopted that undermine the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of seceding part of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The information that has emerged indicates that after such conduct by the EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi, talks with legal representatives of democratic institutions in BiH who operate within the boundaries of the rule of law will be significantly hindered, because Várhelyi is evidently participating in hostile activities directed against our country and its citizens, and is abusing the function entrusted to him.

Such abuse threatens peace and stability, contributes to the introduction of anarchy and fear. I call on EU institutions to take measures within their competencies against the individual in question for such abuses, which undermine the rule of law, the Constitution of BiH and the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Oliver Várhelyi and Johann Sattler have, through their servile approach to the destructive policy of Milorad Dodik, lost the trust of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
