Vienna's 'Report to the City' app for citizens of Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - By signing the Cooperation Agreement for the 'Report to the City' application, Sarajevo Canton officially became a member of the city cooperation for the maintenance and development of this platform, which already includes Austrian cities Vienna, Villach, and Klagenfurt.

On this occasion, a press conference was held at the premises of the Vienna City Office in Sarajevo, at the beginning of which the representative of the City of Vienna, Robin Heilig from the Department for Digitization of the City of Vienna (MA 01), officially handed over the mentioned agreement to the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Edin Forto, who then signed it.

'We are very pleased to have entered into cooperation with Sarajevo Canton. Now we have a little more work ahead of us, as we are starting to prepare this application for Sarajevo,' said Heilig, expressing satisfaction with the future cooperation.

As stated by Prime Minister Forto, one of the first actions of the KS Government, after its appointment, was a major cleanup campaign.

'Through the implementation of this campaign, we realized that citizens have a great desire to provide information about their problems, by opening and using a special Viber number,' Forto pointed out, adding that in the first month alone, there were several thousand interactions between citizens and the Government. 

He emphasized that there was no reason to wait any longer to implement such applications which have been completely normal in more developed environments for a long time, and even in cities in the region. He recalled the phases of negotiations with the City of Vienna, or rather the consortium of three Austrian cities, regarding the mentioned application, for which he emphasized that the costs of its operation will be almost non-existent, and it will provide a practice and service that has long been well-developed in Europe.

He also announced that the pilot phase of the mentioned application in the Canton should begin at the start of next year. He also said that initially it will only be applied in the communal sector, and later all departments would be gradually included.
