Bećirović: Biographies of candidates for OSA leaders received at the session, where was Bevanda during the war

With 10 votes in favor, one against, and one abstention, the Joint Commission for Oversight of OSA supported the proposal of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdić, that the head of OSA be Osman Mehmedagić Osmica, his deputy Trifko Buha, while the chief inspector will be Damir Bevanda, reports the news agency Patria.

As we learn, Damir Bećirović (DF) was against, while Mirsad Mešić (SDP) abstained during the vote.

In an interview with Patria, Bećirović explained why he was against these appointments.

- Firstly, I consider it very irresponsible that we, as members of the commission, only received the biographies of the candidates at the session. Although our opinion is not binding, I could not allow myself the luxury of casting a vote. Because these appointments lead to further politicization of the Intelligence-Security Agency - said Bećirović.

He further stated that he was particularly puzzled by the fact that in the biography of the future chief inspector, it says that from 1992 to 1995 he was a member of the army and police.

- Nothing more is written, just that. And that bothered me a lot - added Bećirović.
