Bećirović: Stop anti-European activities in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - SDP delegate in the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović considers the pro-Russian policy of a part of the Council of Ministers unacceptable, which was demonstrated by not supporting the EBRD resolution. We publish his statement in full.

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not support the resolutions of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) that would suspend or change Russia's and Belarus's access to the bank's resources. Ministers from Dodik's SNSD voted against the decision.

The resolutions refer to the EBRD not conducting new operations, i.e., loans or technical assistance in the Russian Federation and Belarus, and will, if possible, suspend or cancel the payment of tranches in existing operations for these countries.

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina behaves like an alienated center of power that has been working directly against the interests of citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina for years. The parliamentary majority in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina is also responsible for such behavior because that majority elected and supports this anti-state and anti-European Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Today's vote in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the EBRD resolution shows that I had a valid reason at the last session of the House of Peoples to seek the adoption of conclusions that would oblige this state authority to follow the EU's foreign and security policy. Unfortunately, SNSD and HDZ voted against this proposal, thereby further encouraging irresponsible ministers to continue pursuing pro-Russian and anti-European policies.
