(Patria) - On the occasion of the brutal violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the attempt to create non-existent statehood for the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity RS, member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović stated that the adopted Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly of Serbia and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity RS represents a hegemonic state-institutional, legal-political act, directed directly against the constitutional order of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement, but also against several other countries in the region.
"The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, by advocating for the realization of the dark concept of 'one nation, one assembly, one leader', is endangering peace and security not only in the region but also in the whole of Europe. Misunderstanding the danger of this retrograde concept can have unforeseeable consequences. Vučić's attempt to impose the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia as the statehood day of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity RS represents an unprecedented form of violation of international and national law. Vučić must know that the concept of statehood of the BiH entity RS does not exist, because this entity was not and will never be a state. It is an indivisible part of the internationally recognized state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The idea that one administrative-territorial unit takes the statehood day of another country as its own statehood day is completely unfounded and unsustainable. Statehood Day is neither borrowed nor taken over. Only the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina can celebrate its Statehood Day, as is the case with every other member state of the United Nations. Europe and the world must know that there is no essential difference between the Program of Draža Mihailović's Chetnik movement from
World War II and Vučić's Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly. The only difference is that the Declaration is an official document of the state of Serbia. It has been formally adopted for the first time as a programmatic document of the state authorities of Serbia, which distinguishes it from earlier Greater Serbian documents. This is the first time that such a document has acquired legal force, making it binding for the executive and legislative authorities of Serbia.
It is time for the states that are witnesses to the Dayton Peace Agreement, the states of the Peace Implementation Council, the UN Security Council, the European Union, and other international actors to wake up and stop this dangerous Greater-State madness, which threatens peace in the region. The revival of the criminal project of Greater Serbia requires a coordinated, unified, and decisive response from the international community and democratic forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to prevent the Greater-State aspirations of the Republic of Serbia towards the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina from causing a tragic rerun of the 1990s", Bećirović believes.
