(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović extended his deepest condolences to the families of those who perished in the fire at the Home for the Elderly in Tuzla.
"I am deeply shaken by the news of the catastrophic fire at the Home for the Elderly in Tuzla. In one of the greatest tragedies to have befallen Tuzla and Bosnia and Herzegovina, a large number of people lost their lives as a result of the fire, and many were injured. Among them are members of the rescue services.
This tragedy has shaken all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In these difficult moments, my thoughts and sympathy are with the families of the victims and the injured.
The Mayor of Tuzla, Zijad Lugavić, with whom I am in contact, informed me that the injured have been adequately cared for at the University Clinical Center Tuzla.
As a member of the Presidency of BiH, I have offered support and assistance through the engagement of state resources.
On behalf of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I express gratitude to the members of the fire brigades, police, ambulance services, and all other services that responded bravely and professionally in extremely difficult circumstances, thereby preventing an even greater tragedy.
The citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as our friends in the region and around the world, who have sent us telegrams of condolence, are mourning together with Tuzla today. We share the deep pain, but also the determination to jointly show solidarity, humanity, and care for those who need help the most right now."
