(Patria) - BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović visited Vlasenica, where, together with his associates, he laid flowers and paid tribute at the Rakita Martyrs' Cemetery.
Bećirović said that it is important to preserve the memory of the victims and express respect for the Bosniak civilians killed in Vlasenica from 1992 to 1995, but also to prosecute those responsible for the crimes in this town.
In a conversation with local residents, he emphasized that justice and truth are the basis for building an atmosphere of trust in Podrinje and the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that it is the obligation of the competent authorities to provide security to citizens, especially returnees.
Bećirović was informed about the living conditions and needs of returnees in Vlasenica and the Bosnian entity of RS.
The discussion included institutional support for employment and infrastructure projects with the aim of creating better living conditions for citizens in this part of the country.
