Bećirović with Schmidt: The 'All-Serbian Assembly' declaration is dangerous not only for BiH, but also for the whole of Europe

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović spoke today with the High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt.

Current political, security and other challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region were discussed, with a special focus on anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional activities of the authorities of the BiH entity RS.

During a multi-hour conversation at the OHR, Bećirović once again argued and warned about the dangerous content and consequences of the declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly.

- One of the dangerous aspects of this declaration is the institutionalization of relations between the state of Serbia and an administrative unit in another state.

The announcement of the beginning of the realization of Vučić's Greater Serbian and anti-Dayton declaration is the entry of members of the Serbian Army into the territory of the independent and sovereign state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.



The declaration is dangerous not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for the whole of Europe, because it undermines the fundamental principles on which the European Union is based.

There is no doubt, the declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly threatens peace in the region, international law and the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

The realization of this declaration would mean the complete destabilization of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. Therefore, it is necessary for the international community to stop its implementation with concrete steps - Bećirović said, among other things.

High Representative Schmidt emphasized that the state borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina are internationally recognized and protected, and that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina are unquestionable.

He stressed that attacks on the Dayton Peace Agreement and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina are unacceptable, and that all those who engage in such actions will face consequences.

Bećirović stated that strategic partners from the international community must take the threats to peace and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina seriously, in order to avoid destabilization in the entire region.

He pointed out that the OHR, the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, EUFOR, NATO, and the witnesses to the Dayton Peace Agreement have all the necessary mechanisms to ensure the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the preservation of peace.
