Bećirović with Hanrahan: Lobbying by the RS entity against BiH is an attack on peace and stability

(Patria) - BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović spoke with the head of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department, Brendan Hanrahan.

Bećirović emphasized that the decades-long strategic partnership with the USA is of key importance for preserving peace and stability, as well as the overall progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He pointed to the scandalous contracts of the BiH entity RS with certain lobbying firms, which explicitly contracted lobbying for the breakup of the internationally recognized state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This, as Bećirović said, represents anti-Dayton and unconstitutional action aimed against peace and security.

He stressed that this represents an escalation not seen in more than 30 years of implementing the Dayton Peace Agreement, and that the realization of such destructive and dangerous policy must not be allowed.

During the conversation, Bećirović emphasized that the realization of the Southern Gas Interconnection project represents a strategic energy project of importance for energy security and diversification of gas supply sources.

He also stated that the Southern Gas Interconnection contributes to strengthening the energy independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Regarding the issue of state property, Bećirović emphasized that this issue should be resolved in accordance with the final and binding decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

During the meeting, Hanrahan reiterated the unequivocal support of the USA for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and emphasized that the USA remains consistently committed to preserving peace and stability in the country.

He also expressed full support for the realization of the Southern Gas Interconnection project, emphasizing its importance for the energy security, economic stability, and resilience of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
