Bećirović with US Senators and Congressman: Explained the dangerous consequences of applying the Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly

Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations Senator Jim Risch (R),
Senator and member of the Committee on Foreign Relations Jeanne Shaheen (D), Senator and member of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe Thom Tillis (R), Senator and member of the Senate Intelligence Committee Michael Bennet (D), and Congressman and Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Mik Turner (R).

Bećirović thanked the United States of America for its continuous support of the multi-ethnic state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On that occasion, he emphasized that Washington and Brussels are the two most important foreign policy destinations for Bosnia and Herzegovina, as our country's strategic goals are full membership in NATO and the EU. Bosnia and Herzegovina was and will remain a reliable partner and ally of the USA.

We greatly appreciate that the USA played a key role in stopping the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina and achieving peace, and therefore we will continue to build the best possible relations with this country in the future. Bosnia and Herzegovina pursues a principled foreign policy, unlike Serbia, which pursues a pro-Russian policy.

Bećirović pointed out to the American senators and congressman the current security challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. He specifically explained the dangerous consequences of applying the Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly, emphasizing that this Greater-Serbian document represents a serious threat to the stability and security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. He pointed out that the Declaration represents an open violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and a direct attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović said that any attempt to question the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of our country requires a strong response from the international community.

The senators and congressman emphasized that they share the concerns of the Member of the Presidency of BiH Bećirović regarding the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and emphasized that the USA remains a strong partner and friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They underlined that they will continue to provide full support to its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and expressed their firm commitment to preserving peace, security, and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans.

During the conversation, the importance of continuous US support for Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to the EU and NATO was emphasized.

Bećirović emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina's strategic interest is to deepen comprehensive cooperation with the USA, and upcoming activities of Bećirović in Washington were also discussed.
