Bećirović with Quint Ambassadors: Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly is a blow to the foundations of the UN, EU, and BiH

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović held a new meeting with the ambassadors of the Quint member states (United States of America, Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of France, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Italy).

The meeting, held at the initiative of Chairman Bećirović, was also attended by the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Johann Sattler and the High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt.

Incidentally, the meeting at the BiH Presidency is part of the overall and intensive foreign policy activities of Chairman Bećirović, with the aim of providing arguments and informing the international community's actions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting discussed current political, security, and other challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, with a special focus on anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional activities of the authorities of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of Rs, which threaten peace and undermine the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović pointed out the importance of jointly agreeing on activities with strategic partners from the international community to ensure the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the preservation of peace. It was emphasized that this is also very important for preserving the security and stability of the entire region.

The dangerous Greater Serbia project has been reactivated in Serbia. The goal, as envisioned by Greater Serbian ideologues, is to achieve in peace what was not achieved during the aggression in the 1990s. It is the same ideology, policy, and goals from the 1990s.

In Belgrade on June 8, 2024, the idea of "one people, one assembly" was promoted, and it is clear to everyone that there is also one leader of this Greater State project, Bećirović said.

The idea of the Russian world, as well as the Serbian world, is revanchist and is used to rewrite history. Many did not understand Milošević's speech at Gazimestan in 1989, and unfortunately, many do not understand the devastating consequences of the Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly.

There are two particularly dangerous aspects of this declaration: a) the institutionalization of relations between the state of the Republic of Serbia and an administrative unit in another state; b) the anti-Dayton, anti-European, and anti-constitutional content of the adopted Declaration. With the adopted Declaration, the cards are completely revealed. The so-called All-Serbian Assembly nominally referred to the Dayton Peace Agreement, but in essence, it detailed its destruction, Bećirović emphasized.

There is no doubt that the Declaration of the so-called All-Serbian Assembly of Serbia and the BiH entity of Rs is absolutely contrary to the practice in the democratic and civilized world; to the fundamental norms of international law and the sovereignty of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, it threatens the fundamental principles on which the EU is based; the basic principles of interstate relations of UN member states, as well as peaceful and equal cooperation among European states.

During a multi-hour and argumentative discussion in which all invited participants took part, the importance of the conclusions of the last session of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council was highlighted, which stated that the authorities of the BiH entity of Rs are flagrantly endangering the General Framework Agreement for Peace, the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

All participants in the meeting emphasized that a greater degree of coordination and more effective action by the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina is needed in the coming period.

The participants in the discussion unanimously concluded that an independent, sovereign, secure, and multi-ethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina is a common interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the EU, the USA, and the United Kingdom.
