Bećirović discussed at the US Mission to the UN with Ambassador Dorothy Camille Shea

(Patria) - BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović, during his working visit to the United Nations (UN), held a meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States of America (USA) to the UN, Ambassador Dorothy Camille Shea.

The BiH Presidency member expressed deep gratitude to the USA for its overall assistance and support to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The USA has played a key role in establishing and preserving peace, and the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina greatly appreciate this. He also stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina's strategic commitment is to strengthen comprehensive and friendly ties with the USA.

During the meeting, Bećirović pointed to the deteriorating security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina due to the dangerous anti-Dayton activities of the leadership of the BiH entity of RS. On that occasion, he stated that the separatist leadership of the BiH entity of RS threatens peace and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bećirović specifically warned about the announcement of the establishment of a reserve police force in the BiH entity of RS, which is a new serious threat to peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as beyond. A secure future for all citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina does not lie in the militarization of police forces. The best guarantor of the state's stability is Bosnia and Herzegovina's membership in NATO, making the intensification of the Euro-Atlantic integration process of key importance. Furthermore, Bosnia and Herzegovina will remain a reliable member of the US-led anti-terrorist coalition, actively contributing to international security.

Ambassador Shea expressed the USA's support for respecting the Dayton Peace Agreement and preserving peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Bećirović and Ambassador Shea expressed agreement that the continuation of strong cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the USA is very important for strengthening the stability, security, and Euro-Atlantic perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

During the conversation, Bećirović specifically thanked for the strong support of the USA in adopting the Resolution on the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica in 1995. The citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina greatly appreciate that the USA is one of the main guardians of the truth about the genocide committed against Bosniaks in and around Srebrenica.
