Bećirović speaks with Swedish Parliament member Denis Begić

(Patria) - BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović spoke with Denis Begić, a member of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden.

Bećirović praised the significance and role of Denis Begić in the political and public life of Sweden, particularly regarding the promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina's European perspective. Bećirović emphasized that the Kingdom of Sweden has shown strong support for Bosnia and Herzegovina during its presidency of the EU Council in the first half of this year.

Denis Begić informed Bećirović about his activities in Sweden and the results achieved aimed at supporting the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthening relations between the two countries on the political, economic, and cultural levels.

Denis Begić, one of the leading figures of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, originally from Gradiška, stated that he will continue to be a strong voice for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sweden with the goal of strengthening the Kingdom of Sweden's support for Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to full membership in the EU and NATO. He emphasized that in the Swedish Parliament's Committee on European Union Affairs, he will use every opportunity to keep the Western Balkans issue on the agenda.

He recalled that Sweden regularly adopts a Strategy for Cooperation with the Western Balkans, and that the main goal of Sweden's support is to improve the living conditions of citizens and people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special emphasis on bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to the EU.

BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović highlighted, among other things, the importance of working to strengthen ties between the diaspora and the homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was noted that cooperation with the diaspora and the protection of the interests of Bosnian citizens, who in large numbers reside in Sweden for various reasons, holds a special place in the improvement of relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Sweden.
