Bećirović discussed with BiH intellectuals about current attacks on BiH state

(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović discussed with members of a group of 22 BiH intellectuals and artists, who addressed the international community and political entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the current situation in our country.

The meeting with Bećirović was attended by: academician Esad Duraković, Miro Lazović, Prof. Dr. Hazim Bašić, Azra Zornić, and Ademir Kenović. They thanked Bećirović for the reception and discussion at the BiH Presidency building, and expressed support for his work.

Bećirović stated that the engagement of intellectuals and artists in the public space is important in facing the challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina arising from the actions of the authorities of the BiH entity RS.

Among other things, the members of the group of BiH intellectuals and artists conveyed that they demand that political entities in power and in opposition offer decisive resistance to the factors of disintegration, and that they do not make compromises with them at the expense of the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the full equality of its citizens and peoples. They recently addressed the domestic and international public, domestic and foreign institutions, and political entities that have influence on the creation of political and social reality in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of pointing out the mistakes being made in our country and towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović reminded that on July 6th of this year, he requested an extraordinary session of the BiH Presidency, at which he proposed concrete conclusions, including a call to the competent international and domestic institutions to urgently take the necessary steps to protect peace and the constitutional order in Bosnia and Herzegovina due to the evident endangerment of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Members of the group of 22 BiH intellectuals and artists emphasized that the international community, as well as its High Representative, have so far mostly been observers of the crisis development in Bosnia and Herzegovina and have most often only expressed concern. Instead of verbalization, they demand effective action from the international community and the High Representative to preserve the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to finally overcome the crisis.

They stressed that they are asking for nothing more than for Bosnia and Herzegovina to be organized like other European democratic states.

The group of 22 BiH intellectuals and artists, who are signatories of the manifesto, includes: Esad Bajtal, Hazim Bašić, Edin Batlak, Esad Boškailo, Dragan Bursać, Jasna Čaušević, Milan Dunović, Esad Duraković, Rešid Hafizović, Husnija Kamberović, Ademir Kenović, Adil Kulenović, Miro Lazović, Jasmin Mujanović, Dino Mustafić, Emir Nuhanović, Vahidin Preljević, Emir Ramić, Lada Sadiković, Abdulah Sidran, Aiša Telalović, Azra Zornić.
