Bećirović discussed with representatives of the BiH diaspora in the United Kingdom

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović discussed in Birmingham with representatives of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK). The meeting was attended by representatives of numerous associations from across the UK, as well as the president of the umbrella organization of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora “Bosnia and Herzegovina UK network” Zaim Pašić.

During this meeting, concrete proposals for strengthening ties and improving cooperation with associations and citizens originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who now live and work in the UK, were considered. Participants in the meeting presented concrete proposals regarding the strengthening of cultural, educational, and economic ties between the homeland and diaspora communities, and expressed their readiness to, in cooperation with the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, contribute to affirming the positive image of our country on the international stage.

Bećirović emphasized that the diaspora is an inseparable part of Bosnian-Herzegovinian society. It is of exceptional importance that Bosnia and Herzegovina fully utilizes the knowledge, reputation, and influence of its people abroad. Bosnia and Herzegovina must communicate more strongly with its citizens who live and work outside their homeland. This is a strategic
issue for the strengthening and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the end of the meeting, the member of the Presidency of BiH thanked the representatives of the BiH community in the UK for their persistent preservation of the identity, language, and culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and invited them to remain active partners in the process of building a just, European, and functional Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this way, each of their achievements in the environments where they live will also be a benefit for our homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
