Bećirović speaks with representatives of Bosnian diaspora in Switzerland

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović spoke in Zurich with representatives of associations of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora in Switzerland.

During the conversation, he highlighted the importance of institutional networking and joint work on projects of interest to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He emphasized that the Bosnian diaspora in Switzerland is a good example of organization, mutual cooperation, and connection with organizations and institutions in the homeland.

The good organization of the Bosnian diaspora is also evidenced by the fact that the meeting was attended by representatives of the associations BKC Luzern, IBC Zurich, BKC Zug, IZBA Aargau, BKC Kula, which operate within the organization Moja BiH.

Also present were representatives of the Bosniak National Foundation (BNF), the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Switzerland, the Prosperity Fund, the Voice for Bosnia, and the White Ribbon Commission.

Bećirović noted that there is a global trend in the Bosnian diaspora for multiple organizations to unite into alliances and communities, leading to much more efficient work and greater impact.

Such an organization, he said, also enables better cooperation with institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The representatives of the associations informed Bećirović and his associates that non-governmental organizations, which gather Bosnian citizens currently residing in Switzerland, have done a lot in the last decade to strengthen communities.

They emphasized that they have developed their own programs for preserving the language, culture, and tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and have simultaneously worked to bring Swiss friends closer to Bosnia and Herzegovina and its multicultural spirit.

Furthermore, they stressed that it is particularly important to establish institutional cooperation between Bosnian entrepreneurs from Switzerland and the economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to resolve the issue of student exchange between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland at the state level.

Approximately 100,000 citizens of Bosnian origin currently reside in Switzerland. They are organized through a quality network of non-governmental organizations through which they achieve mutual cooperation and connect with the homeland.

The working meeting with the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Denis Bećirović in Zurich was attended by: Adnan Jakupović, Admir Salkić, Anel Hadžić, Mirsad Mujadžić, Ernad Hujdur, Nermin Bećirević, Teufik Delić, Emin Šerifović, Fikret Mesić, Merisa Zahirović, Midhet Jakupović, Senad Džihanović, Zeid Mešić, Ajla Kuduzović and Ahmed Šarić, as well as the Deputy Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Switzerland Dženeta Halilović.
