Bećirović spoke with French Minister for Europe Benjamin Haddad

(Patria) - BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović spoke in Paris with Minister for Europe in the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France Benjamin Haddad.

Bećirović pointed out that the weakening of the two key institutions established by the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement must not be allowed at any cost: the Constitutional Court of BiH and the Office of the High Representative for BiH. These two institutions are the key guardians of peace and stability. In this regard, Bećirović emphasized that any weakening of the institution of the High Representative could lead to catastrophic consequences.

"No one has the right to accept the unserious arguments of the leaders of the BiH entity of RS and their mentors from outside the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who claim that the High Representative threatens the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The sovereignty of our country is solely threatened by separatist politicians in the RS entity, and the whole world should know this," Bećirović stressed.

Bećirović emphasized that the attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the foundations of the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement is ongoing. The leadership of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of RS continues to threaten the hard-won peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Such irresponsible and dangerous policy carries with it unforeseeable consequences, not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina but also for the stability of the entire region. He referred to the latest activities of Republika Srpska regarding the formation of a reserve police force, assessing it as a serious threat to peace and stability.

He particularly thanked for the continuous support of the Republic of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path towards full membership in NATO and the European Union (EU).

Minister Haddad said that the Republic of France, as a witness to the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement, strongly supports the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized the importance of protecting the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, peace, and stability in our country, and that the Republic of France will resolutely oppose any separatist activities by the leadership of the RS entity. During the meeting, Minister Haddad pointed out the importance of intensifying European and Euro-Atlantic integration, accelerating reform processes, and implementing the Growth Plan.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of France so far, and emphasized the importance of improving interstate relations, with the aim of strengthening the stability, security, and progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. They also discussed the upcoming meeting with the President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron.

Furthermore, Bećirović thanked Minister Haddad for attending the commemoration on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in the "United Nations Safe Zone of Srebrenica", and for the strong messages of the President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron, which the minister read on that occasion.
