Bećirović: There is a serious danger of armed conflict in BiH, the EU must stop the peacebreakers in this part of Europe

(Patria) - The sole and central cause of the most severe security crisis in BiH since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement to date is the pro-Russian, separatist, and anti-Dayton policy of the leadership of the RS entity.

This cannot, must not be relativized or wrapped in any political cellophane. This is a common problem for both our country BiH and the EU, because it is evident that the president of the RS is a puppet in the hands of Moscow, which aims to destabilize this part of Europe.

This was stated today at a press conference by member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović, after the collective head of state met with the President of the European Council Charles Michel in Sarajevo.

The key message that the European Union must understand, Bećirović added, is that this is not one of the crisis situations we have witnessed in the previous decade - this is a big mistake.

- For the first time since 1995, there is a serious danger of armed conflict between the legal state institutions of BiH and rogue elements at the lower entity level.

This is recognized by the whole of Europe and the democratic world, and that is why sanctions have been imposed on the peacebreakers and the Dayton Peace Agreement - said Bećirović.

He assessed that the messages from Charles Michel at today's meeting were very important and encouraging for BiH.

- What I want to say today is that 80 percent of BiH residents want to join the EU. Less than 20 percent are those who want an alliance with Putin and Lukashenko.

Those who want the Russian and Belarusian autocratic concept were paraded in Moscow four days ago.

And the leader of the RS entity reiterated a few days ago: "Russia is pursuing the correct foreign policy, Russia justifiably attacked Ukraine, the EU is a delusion and a big mistake".

These are just some of his messages. Mr. Michel, these sentences were not spoken by the leader of North Korea, but by the leader of the BiH entity of RS.

This is the reality of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also of the European Union. This is happening in the heart of Europe, and I will not remain silent about this truth.

The European Union must show the capacity and strength to stop the peacebreakers in this part of Europe.

Russia is working to open a second front, and is closest to doing so in the Western Balkans. Whenever Europe has underestimated Russia, the consequences have been severe - said Bećirović.
