Bećirović reiterated his stance: I am not forming a new political party

(Patria) – After information emerged that Denis Bećirović, member of the Presidency of BiH and vice-president of the SDP, along with state representative Šemsudinom Mehmedovićem, is forming a new political party, Bećirović responded on Instagram.

He published a segment from his appearance on FTV last week, where he also spoke about the alleged new political party.

„I am confronted daily with numerous untruths, disinformation, deceptions, and often in recent weeks it has been said that I am forming some new political party. My answer is clear and short. I am not forming a new political party.

I am a member of the Presidency of BiH, and in these difficult moments for BiH, my role is to protect the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of BiH and connect all democratic forces,“ the statement reads.

On the other hand, Bećirović is also one of the candidates for the president of the SDP BiH, given that Nermin Nikšić can no longer be president according to the Statute. At the last Congress, his mandate was extended until after the local elections in October 2024.

Nikšić himself stated in an appearance on Face TV that Bećirović is a serious candidate for the president of the SDP BiH.
