(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović commented on the statements of the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik regarding state property.
He said that as a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he is obliged to clearly state that no more lies and deceptions about state property will be tolerated.
"Therefore, I will highlight three irrefutable facts. First, the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina has clearly resolved the fundamental dilemma. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a state, RS is an entity within the state. State property belongs to the state, just as it belongs to every other state in the world. There is no state without state property," said Bećirović.
As a second fact, he pointed out that according to the Agreement on Succession Issues of former Yugoslavia, state property was given to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"This international agreement was concluded in Vienna in 2001, and it entered into force after its ratification by all successor states in 2004. BiH ratified this international agreement in 2002," said Bećirović.
According to this international agreement, state property belongs to the state of BiH.
"Dodik should stop lying to the people in RS and finally tell the truth. It is an irrefutable fact that Annex A of the Succession Agreement clearly stipulates that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the owner of the immovable property of the former SFRY that was located on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nowhere in this international agreement are entities or lower levels of government in our country mentioned as successors to this property," said Bećirović.
He emphasized that these are facts that people in the RS entity and the entire BiH must know.
"Enough of Dodik's lies and deceptions," said Bećirović.
As a third fact, he stated that it was decided in Dayton that the Constitutional Court of BiH makes final and binding decisions.
"The Constitutional Court of BiH has decided that the state of BiH is the successor to the state property of the socialist Republic of BiH. These are arguments that cannot be hidden by any clamor from separatist politicians. As for Dodik's threats to the state, I publicly tell him to forget them," stated Bećirović.
He emphasized that the majority and patriotic BiH is not afraid of Dodik or his henchmen.
"If this country depended on Dodik, it would not exist for a single day. But, fortunately, it does not depend on him. This country depends on the vast majority of us who have only one choice. That choice is called Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, we will defend our homeland with all available legal, democratic, and other legitimate means, just as any other UN member state is defended. Millions of us in the country and abroad will never allow our homeland to be broken up. Never and at any cost," concluded Bećirović.
