Bećirović hosted a formal reception for the Olympic Committee of BiH and BiH Olympians

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović hosted a formal reception for representatives of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OKBiH) and members of the Olympic team from the XVII Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

The reception was attended by Academician Izet Rađo, President of OKBiH, Said Fazlagić, Secretary General of OKBiH; judo athletes Larisa Cerić and Aleksandra Samardžić, their coaches Branislav Crnogorac and Arijana Jaha; athlete Mesud Pezer and his coach Mehmed Skender; swimmer Lana Pudar and her manager Damir Đedović, and the official photographer of OKBiH Sanjin Hakalović.

According to the leaders of the Olympic Committee of BiH, this is the first reception hosted by the Olympic Committee and Olympians of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the BiH Presidency. During the conversation, the Olympians thanked the Chairman of the Presidency Denis Bećirović for the concrete support he provided them in preparing for the XVII Summer Olympic Games. As a sign of support for the competitors and the Olympic Committee of BiH, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović visited the Olympic Village in Paris just before the start of the Olympic competitions and spoke with our Olympians.

During the formal reception at the BiH Presidency building, Bećirović expressed his gratitude to the Bosnian-Herzegovinian athletes for достойно representing their homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the Olympic Games.

He added that the mere fact that our athletes have met the Olympic standard speaks volumes about them being among the best competitors in the world. It is imperative that Bosnia and Herzegovina builds strong state institutions, successful and efficient sports federations, and a well-organized competition system in all sports, and that political blockades aimed at preventing the financing of Bosnian-Herzegovinian sports, and thus Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to success, are overcome, said Dr. Bećirović.

The Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović emphasized that athletes are a kind of ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world, and that it is necessary to find systemic solutions that will enable the preservation and development of BiH sports.
