(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović responded to the latest unfounded statements by the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, which he made in his address today in Donja Gradina.
"I will not comment on the part of the statement by the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić that "Serbia is attacked from the outside and from within", because that is within the jurisdiction of the authorities of neighboring Serbia. Their authorities should determine whether this country is attacked, by whom and how. We in Bosnia and Herzegovina will not interfere in the internal affairs of neighboring Serbia.
However, the statement by the President of Serbia that "Republika Srpska is attacked" is unacceptable and very dangerous. This Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity is part of the independent, sovereign, and indivisible state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and no one has attacked it. There is no evidence for such an irresponsible and inflammatory construction.
The issue of an attack on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina or any part of it is precisely regulated by the laws of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. An attack on any part of Bosnia and Herzegovina in any form is considered an attack on the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. That is why there are state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina that have the capacity and legal role to ensure the sovereignty, territorial integrity, political independence, and international subjectivity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The interpretation of the laws of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is exclusively within the jurisdiction of its state bodies, and the President of Serbia has absolutely nothing to do with it. Therefore, he is completely incompetent and unauthorized to speak about any attack on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina or any part of it.
Unfortunately, without any reason, contrary to international and national law, the President of Serbia continuously and aggressively interferes in the internal affairs of the independent, sovereign, and indivisible state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It would be good for the entire region if the President of Serbia dealt with the internal affairs of the state he represents, instead of diverting attention from the problems in his own country by creating crises in other states," Bećirović stated in his reaction.
