Bećirović on the monument to Mehmed Alagić: The information that I gave up coming to Vlašić under the influence of the US Embassy is false

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović addressed social networks today regarding his absence from Vlašić on August 4, when the monument to the Army of RBiH fighters "General Mehmed Alagić - Ljiljan Ljuta greda" was unveiled.

"If I had to respond to numerous lies every day, I would have no time to deal with serious issues. Liars should first be allowed to wallow in the mud of their lies and deceit. Truth is slow, but indestructible.

Regarding the false information that I gave up coming to Vlašić under the influence of the US Embassy, the mayor of Travnik, Dr. Kenan Dautović, gave a clear and truthful answer," stated Bećirović, and then shared a part of Dautović's response regarding Bećirović's attendance at the event.

"I am reading comments regarding President Bećirović and I feel the need to deny what I am reading. I visited President Bećirović on July 31. Last year, he proposed that the BiH Presidency be the patron of this event - 'Days of Victory, Days of Pride'.

I presented this idea to Komšić, and he accepted it. I also received confirmation that President Bećirović also wants to be a patron. Then he informed me that he would not be able to attend; I did not ask for the reasons, nor did I consider them relevant. We agreed to mention and thank Bećirović and Komšić, who are patrons of the event, at the unveiling, but that he is not here at the moment - Dautović stated.

Dautović added that they expect Denis Bećirović to attend on September 16, when the final event of 'Days of Victory, Days of Pride' will be held.

"I cannot accept the speculations I am reading. He told me on July 31 that he could not be there due to other commitments, and at that time, no one knew what it would look like. It is unrealistic and not fair to criticize him," said Dautović.
