Bećirović on Schmidt's statement: We will not allow equating defenders of RBiH with war criminals

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović reacted to the statement of High Representative Christian Schmidt, in which he equated convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić and the first president of the Presidency of RBiH Alija Izetbegović.

"Before High Representative Christian Schmidt inadmissibly equated the first president of the BiH Presidency Alija Izetbegović with convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić, I decided to sponsor the Academy on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the death of the first president of the BiH Presidency Alija Izetbegović again this year," announced the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović (SDP).

He made a statement on social networks.

"My views were and remain crystal clear. We will never allow equating the defenders of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina with war criminals," Bećirović announced.
