Bećirović: I will not set people against each other, I will restore trust between Bosniaks and Croats

GORNJI VAKUF, (Patria) - Denis Bećirović said at the promotion of his book held before a full hall in Gornji Vakuf that he sees his mission as a mission of developing dialogue, trust and cooperation among citizens and peoples, especially Bosniaks and Croats.

- Members of these two most numerous peoples in the entity of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have the greatest responsibility for creating a democratic environment in which all others will feel safe, protected and equal.

Unfortunately, we are witnessing that those who have been cooperating very well in government for years, as a rule, 'seasonally' before elections remember the people and patriotism, when they only speak against their partners, marking them as a threat to this or that people. They have no problem spending four years together sharing functions, resources and passing laws that fill budgets at the expense of the people, only to then invoke the interests of the people when they scare people with each other.

These are methods of deceiving voters where only ostensibly opposing policies actually benefit each other the most, as a means of homogenization and mobilization of voters to whom they offer no positive solutions. Their entire political program is reduced to shouting slogans against alleged opponents with whom they actually complement and understand each other very well.

Citizens must finally say a decisive 'NO' to such rehearsed pre-election games that only deepen mistrust and crisis in society. In Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole, we must resolutely fight for the integration of our society. Internal connection is a prerequisite for building a functional state that has a Euro-Atlantic perspective. We can and must defeat anti-Bosnian policies of division only through the policy of internal and ultimately Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Because of all this, we must not allow destructive policies of hopelessness and fear to find fertile ground among the people, especially among our youth. The way we will protect our future generations from these policies and the evil they have inflicted on us in the past is by abolishing all forms of division and discrimination, which has been confirmed here by court rulings.

Integrating children into a unified education system, within which our children will gain positive personal experience in socializing with their fellow citizens of different ethnic backgrounds, but also learn about our common roots and common belonging to the homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the best way to defeat the enemies of our state - concluded Bećirović.
