Bećirović: We will not allow anyone to quarrel us with the USA

(Patria) - BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović stated today in Sarajevo that he does not understand why BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović submitted an initiative for US President Donald Trump to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Let us remind you, Bećirović and his colleague from the BiH Presidency, the current chairman Željko Komšić, refused to include this initiative on the agenda of yesterday's session.

(Patria) - BiH Presidency members Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić refused to include the initiative of Presidency member Željka Cvijanović to nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Prize on the agenda of today's session.

Addressing a press conference in the BiH Presidency building on the topic "Strengthening the Strategic Partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States of America", Bećirović said that BiH has always had good and friendly relations with the USA.

The alliance between the USA and BiH, Bećirović states, has been proven in previous decades. From the end of the aggression until today, our country has made significant economic and political progress.

- All of this was done with the key help of the USA. Our country will continue to improve these relations and we will not allow anyone to quarrel us with the USA - said Bećirović.

He then referred to Cvijanović's initiative, emphasizing that her approach immediately prevented it from being included on the agenda of the BiH Presidency session.

"The way she acted yesterday shows that her goal is neither respect for the people nor the US President. Her real goal is not a serious discussion, because if it were, she would have provided a concrete explanation of the initiative," Bećirović pointed out.

And everything indicates, he added, that she and her mentors want to distort the facts about the legally convicted former president of the RS entity, falsely present themselves and hide their real foreign policy orientation, continue with perfidious games to present BiH as a country in a negative light and to be removed from the list of sanctioned persons in the USA.

Bećirović also stated that the USA has always provided support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- For us, friendly ties with the USA are not a matter of current daily political calculations, it is a long-term commitment for us. Unlike the pro-Russian policy of the RS, my policy has been and remains Euro-Atlantic - Bećirović points out.

He also adds that Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to work with the administration of US President Donald Trump, who, as he stated, contributed to the stabilization of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

- The USA has told the leaders of the RS that they condemn their actions that call into question the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Bećirović stated.

He also reminded that Dodik, in an interview for Russia Today, publicly and scandalously stated that "Moscow pursues a correct foreign policy", that it "had every right to attack Ukraine", that "Vladimir Putin is a well-known humanist" and that "the whole world needs his humane approach".

Bećirović then emphasized that it was a close call for Dodik to nominate Putin for the Nobel Peace Prize.

- All these facts speak about their policy. Unlike the fickle and unreliable officials of the RS, my approach to foreign policy is crystal clear - I will continue to work on strengthening the consistent and principled foreign policy of BiH, fighting for the international reputation and image of our country, proving with actions that we are a trustworthy partner - Bećirović concluded in his address.
