Bećirović in Breza: I don't make false promises, we must tell people the truth!

BREZA, (Patria) - Addressing numerous citizens of Breza at the promotion of his book, the candidate for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović said that politicians in Bosnia and Herzegovina must behave responsibly and that it is time to stop making false promises to citizens.

- As one of the priorities, we must define attracting foreign investors: „Investors are attracted only by countries where there is political stability. A stable political system and the rule of law are basic prerequisites for the inflow of foreign capital. Unfortunately, the government in Bosnia and Herzegovina currently guarantees neither political stability nor the rule of law. 

Every irresponsible statement calling for various kinds of settling of scores or divisions that will never happen only achieves the effect of driving away potential investors who will seek stability elsewhere. Public calls by some politicians to disregard the legal order, encouraging violations of the Constitution and laws and non-compliance with court rulings from the lowest to the highest level, send a message to investors that they should not come here, because the legal order is being undermined by those whose primary task is to protect it. 

Even when we do bring in investors, they are soon discouraged by complicated procedures which, instead of encouraging, further prevent the rapid circulation of capital. In the 21st century, companies should be registered with a click of a mouse, not by endless visits to counters of various services and filling out complicated paperwork. 

Our diaspora is huge, but also an insufficiently utilized asset of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is clear that our diaspora supports people in Bosnia and Herzegovina through individual actions and helping their loved ones.

However, what we need here are self-sustaining families who will earn incomes here worthy of a comfortable life. Through the systemic development of the concept of public-private partnership and on other partnership bases, the state must enable our diaspora to be, through concrete investments, one of the most powerful drivers of development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this way, we most effectively help our citizens here and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole, to the general satisfaction of all involved,” concluded Bećirović.
