Bećirović: Komšić is my natural political ally, on October 7 a new BiH awakens

Denis Bećirović, the SDP BiH candidate for the BiH Presidency member from the Bosniak people, said that there is a possibility that both he and Željko Komšić, the candidate for the BiH Presidency member from the Croatian people, enter the State Presidency, appearing on TV1's Dnevnik, reports the Patria agency.

- If we judge by the research so far, it is very likely that this will happen.

When asked if he wishes for him in the BiH Presidency, Bećirović very precisely stated that Komšić is his „natural political ally“.

- Željko Komšić is a Bosnian patriot and if I could choose, I would certainly like him to be in the BiH Presidency. Komšić is a social democrat like me, we are bound by many more things than when it comes to some other leaders in this country – said Bećirović.

Speaking about the relationship between SDP BiH and DF, he said that he has never said a single bad word against Komšić or DF, nor will he do so.

- I am trying to raise this cooperation to a higher level and to direct all progressive forces in the fight against the existing hopelessness. If we focus in that direction, I believe that BiH could move faster towards a better future.

Dodik's entry into the BiH Presidency?

- It is not good to present Dodik as a favorite in any way. The citizens in that part of Bosnia and Herzegovina will also decide on that. Whoever enters the BiH Presidency will have to work in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the state. Whoever thinks they can do something against this country will have to face the reaction of the competent authorities who are tasked with preserving constitutionality and legality in BiH.

Bećirović said that BiH needs security, attracting foreign investments, and turning to the real needs of the citizens of BiH.

Speaking about criticisms directed at him, Bećirović said he has nothing to be ashamed of.

- I am a child of the state of BiH, who knows what war is, who spent the entire war in BiH, and I have no need to justify myself to those who are worried because a new BiH is awakening. That BiH will defeat them on October 7 – said Bećirović.

He said that he insists on strengthening the Armed Forces of BiH so that they are adapted to NATO standards and able to help citizens during natural disasters, but also to be a respectable military force in the process of BiH's accession to the NATO alliance.

Bećirović also spoke about the two terms of Bakir Izetbegović in the BiH Presidency.

- He should have done much more when it comes to gathering democratic progressive forces, patriotic forces in BiH. He failed to preserve the unity of his own party. He quarreled with his coalition partners, and there is no cooperation with the opposition.

Speaking about the first official visit if he is elected as a member of the BiH Presidency, he said that his commitment is to direct BiH towards Euro-Atlantic integrations.

- Therefore, it is very important that we choose two key cities for the future of the state of BiH as our first destinations, and those are Washington and Brussels – said Bećirović.

He once again emphasized that the citizens will decide who will be the future members of the BiH Presidency and that he will respect that decision.
