Bećirović-Koç: Turkey is a reliable friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Candidate for the BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina Haldun Koç, with whom he discussed the overall cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey.

- Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey have strong political, economic, cultural, social and other ties, woven long ago, confirmed in the recent past and emphasized in recent years. Therefore, it is a mutual need and interest of the two states, and the peoples living in them, to further develop and improve these relations while respecting the equality and specificities of each state. Turkey is the strongest military, political and economic factor in our region and a country with enormous potential. At the same time, it has always shown goodwill towards our state, treated all its citizens and peoples in the same way, nurtured specific cultural ties with the Bosniak people, and strongly contributed to the peace and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was and remains a reliable friend of our country.

In my election program, in addition to NATO and EU integration, regional cooperation is an important priority for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the state of Turkey holds a special place in all priorities. Therefore, we should continue to strengthen economic and all other friendly relations with the Republic of Turkey - said Bećirović at the meeting.
