Bećirović from Bužim: We will not kneel, we will protect and defend Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović addressed the closing ceremony of the 33rd anniversary of the "505th Knightly Mountain Brigade" in Bužim, in front of more than 10,000 citizens of Bužim and Krajina.

Bećirović recalled the heroic struggle of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina brigades and particularly highlighted General Izet Nanić, "one of the greatest heroes in the millennial history of the Bosnian state". "Their wartime bravery is a lasting example for current and future generations," he stated.

Speaking about current political challenges, he emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina "has always had sons and daughters who will protect it", and that the adoption of the UN Resolution on July 11th as the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica is "one of the most important diplomatic victories of BiH in the 21st century".

"They say I am the initiator and that I led the process of adopting the Resolution on the Srebrenica Genocide. That is true, I led that process. The President of Serbia says that cooperation with me is impossible. From Bužim, I tell him – equal cooperation is possible, but the humiliation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – is not, period!", said Bećirović.

He stated that the task of all citizens and institutions is to strengthen BiH's foreign policy position, alliances, and friendships around the world. "Ours is what the whole world has recognized and what was sealed in the UN on May 22, 1992 – an independent and sovereign state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. For over 1,000 years, we have not knelt before those who wish to destroy our state, and we never will," concluded Bećirović.
