Bećirović and Peach: UK's support is of strategic importance for BiH's security

(Patria) - BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović, within the framework of the Munich Security
Conference, spoke with the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) for the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach.

It was stated that the full respect of the Dayton Peace Agreement is in the interest of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom.

Bećirović said that at a time of anti-Dayton actions by the bodies of the BiH entity RS, it is of exceptional importance that the UK stands firmly with Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens. The UK has a special significance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it is a country that is one of the witnesses to the Dayton Peace Agreement.

During a friendly conversation, Lord Stuart Peach emphasized that the UK strongly supports the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that the UK remains an ally of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is sincerely committed to a democratic and multi-ethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović stressed that it is of enormous importance for
Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive a decision on opening accession negotiations at the upcoming European Council meeting.

Bećirović also recalled his conversation with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak last year in London and pointed out the importance of his clear message that the UK strongly supports the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
