
(Patria) - Members of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović and Željka Cvijanović received the Federal
Minister of the Republic of Austria for EU and Constitutional Affairs Karoline Edtstadler.
Members of the BiH Presidency expressed gratitude to Austria for its continuous support to Bosnia and
Herzegovina on its European path and in granting candidate status for EU membership, as well as for its strong advocacy for the possibility of opening negotiations with the EU.
They emphasized their commitment to fulfilling the 14 priorities from the European Commission's Opinion and to the reform processes towards the country's European path.
They discussed the further improvement of the very good and friendly bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria, particularly economic and trade cooperation.
It was highlighted that in the economic sphere, Austria is one of the largest and most significant trade and investment partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the conviction was expressed that economic cooperation will continue to be improved.
They discussed the further consensual regulation of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and participation in regional initiatives was emphasized. In this regard, the Austrian minister expressed her expectation that Bosnia and Herzegovina will be actively involved in the coordination of priorities and programs of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region EUSDR, seeing this as a way to support Bosnia and Herzegovina's integration processes, as Bosnia and Herzegovina will take over the presidency from Austria in May 2025.
Members of the BiH Presidency thanked Austria for the overall bilateral and multilateral assistance it continuously provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Advisor Vanja Filipović attended the meeting on behalf of the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić.
