Bećirović: The urgent session of the House of Peoples is Dragan Čović's Waterloo

(Patria) - The request of 1/3 of the delegates of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly proved to be a multi-faceted justified move. Among other things, if there had not been an urgent session of the House of Peoples (29.11.2021), the domestic and international public would not have known what scandalous, anti-European, and anti-civilizational moves the leader of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, is capable of, stated Denis Bećirović, delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

"Bosnia and Herzegovina's politicians must not be mere passive observers; they must know how to act proactively, move forward, and expose anti-European and anti-democratic policies.

Also, as one of the representatives of the highest legislative authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I publicly thank Sandra Benčić, a member of the Croatian Parliament, who, speaking about the Bill on the Ratification of the International Convention on the Protection of All Persons from Forced Disappearance, said the following:

 "Croatia is still searching for 1,800 missing persons, and this is considered a priority of Croatia's foreign and domestic policy. However, the attitude towards the missing in other countries, under the same circumstances, is the opposite. (...) Citizens in BiH are also still searching for 1,200 missing persons from the genocide in Srebrenica. These were mostly older minors. At the time of their disappearance, some of them were 15 and 16 years old. And what will HDZ BiH say to those searching for the missing from the genocide in Srebrenica? That it was not genocide? Will they tell them that? Will Dragan Čović tell them that?" (...). Benčić asked the HDZ MPs on whose side they would stand because "their great representative in BiH, known for his honorary doctorate from the University of Zagreb, known for the discrepancy between his assets and income, known for everything that HDZ in Croatia is known for." (...) "Whose side will they take? Those who justify genocides? How are we not ashamed, both to ourselves and internationally, to be against what is a civilizational fact? And how can we not only fail to condemn but stand on the side of those who deny genocide?"

It is time for the true democratic forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and the region to wake up," stated Bećirović.
