Bećirović-Haddad: France will not allow the jeopardising of Bosnia and Herzegovina's sovereignty and territorial integrity

(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović spoke with the Minister for Europe at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Benjamin Haddad.

During the conversation, Bećirović emphasised that the attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the foundations of the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement is not over – it is ongoing. Milorad Dodik is jeopardising the hard-won peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Such irresponsible and dangerous policy carries with it unforeseeable consequences, not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina but also for the stability of the entire Western Balkan region. The French Republic and other states witnesses to the Dayton-Paris Agreement should take urgent measures before Dodik and his associates cause destabilisation of the entire region, said Bećirović.

The Minister for Europe at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Benjamin Haddad, said that the French Republic, as a witness to the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement, firmly supports the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasised that it is important to protect the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, peace and stability in our country. Dodik's policy is dangerous and unacceptable.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the cooperation so far between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the French Republic, and the importance of continuing cooperation was stressed, with the aim of strengthening stability, security and progress in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Bećirović particularly thanked for the continuous support of the French Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path towards full membership in the EU and NATO.
