Bećirović: Dodik is cutting the branch he is sitting on

Zijad Bećirović, director of the International Institute for Middle Eastern and Balkan Studies (IFIMES), told N1 that Milorad Dodik must come out with clear positions on the developments within the DNS and the Socialist Party - because in his opinion, he interferes even in smaller matters, so the explanation that he is not interfering cannot absolve him of responsibility.

IFIMES also published an interesting analysis titled: "The Final Phase of Dodikization of Republika Srpska", and Bećirović said that Milorad Dodik interferes in everything, and that he had secret meetings with members of the Socialist Party of Republika Srpska.

"DNS and SP were at the forefront in 2003 and 2004 to overthrow the then regime. This is returning the situation to some pre-democratic period in RS. There was a showdown with DNS, and now a final showdown with SP. If Dodik does not stand behind this, he must come out with clear positions. He interferes in smaller matters, so that cannot absolve him."

"By eliminating Petar Đokić, he made an introduction for his own elimination. He then no longer has allies, because new allies are only interests, and in the first fiercer attack on Dodik, they will abandon him. Dodik is cutting the branch he is sitting on. He has the most connections with the developments in DNS and SP," Bećirović stated.

Bećirović said that IFIMES has been intensively monitoring all parties in BiH for the past 18 years.

"I can say that SP is one of the most stable parties. It is difficult for anyone who thought of destroying that party. The connections are strong. Dodik's blitzkrieg has not succeeded. I don't think it will succeed," he said.

Also, speaking about the meetings of Mićo Mićić, the mayor of Bijeljina and vice-president of SDS, with Dodik - Bećirović said that he wants to distance himself from Dodik and SNSD, because:

"If SNSD nominated him in Bijeljina, it is questionable whether he would benefit," he said.

Bećirović also said that Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske is actually the epicenter of Milorad Dodik's financing.

"They showed a loss, and it is unimaginable for a leading corporation to operate with a loss or minimal profit. It is suspected that part of the money is used for lobbying in the USA," he said.

"There are tenders without procedures, settlements where a few companies from the same lobby are selected. Simply, it is the cash register, the wallet of Dodik and his regime. If it is managed like this, there will be a collapse, especially if electricity prices fall on the world market. That is the epicenter of Milorad Dodik's financing," he said.

The guest of N1 television assessed that part of the credit for the BiH Reform Program belongs to Dodik, and that this document is actually the MAP, i.e., a step towards NATO membership.
