(Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović stated during the commemoration of Martyrs' Day at the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery in Sarajevo that it is everyone's obligation to preserve the memory of those who gave their lives for the defense of the country.
"We have come to pay our respects to the martyrs and fallen soldiers who defended BiH. It is our obligation to preserve their memory," Bećirović stated.
He said that it is up to us to work towards our country joining NATO as soon as possible.
"To those who question the existence of BiH, my message is - do not play with fire," he emphasized.
Speaking about the new meeting between the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, Milorad Dodik, and Željka Cvijanović, Bećirović pointed out that Vučić is not a peacemaker but the main problem for BiH.
"Dodik creates problems in BiH after every meeting with Vučić. Vučić must respect the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. However, he does not mention the sovereignty of BiH in his statements. Let him respect international law," Bećirović conveyed.
Regarding the confusion in the public created by the information from state representative Denis Zvizdić that NATO forces are coming to BiH, Bećirović said:
"Officials should make fewer statements and announcements, and we should work seriously behind the scenes. As for the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica at the United Nations, I do not wish to speak at this moment, although there is a lot of information. I am going to New York at the beginning of next week," Bećirović announced.
