(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović issued a statement following the latest open hate speech by the former president of the BiH entity RS, Milorad Dodik, at last night's pre-election rally in East Sarajevo.
- The hate speech during the election campaign for the president of the BiH entity RS reminded us once again what kind of destructive policy Milorad Dodik has been advocating and promoting in recent years, deliberately trying to destroy bridges of cooperation and mutual respect among the peoples and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina - stated Bećirović.
According to him, Dodik's address represents a dangerous example of hate speech that openly undermines the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the fundamental values upon which our country is based, namely peace, tolerance, and mutual respect for all peoples and citizens.
- The Court of BiH has finally sentenced Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban from holding any public office. Despite this, he continues to cause immeasurable damage in the public space, sowing hatred and intolerance. In accordance with the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, competent state institutions have an obligation to act and prosecute any hate speech, including Dodik's.
We must respond to Dodik's anti-civilizational policy with dignity and responsibility. Let us respond to his chauvinism with anti-chauvinism. The future of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not in primitivism and sowing hatred among the peoples and citizens of our country. The future is in tolerance, mutual respect, and cooperation - Bećirović stated.
