(Patria) - I am following the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East with deep concern and strongly
condemn any form of violence, especially when innocent civilians are killed. I sincerely sympathize
with the families of the victims. Every attack and every act of violence is a violation of human rights
and democratic values. Peace is a universal value that we should all defend and
nurture, said member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović.
"We are in an era of global challenges, and only together, firmly committed to democratic values,
to societies without violence and conflict, can we contribute to achieving
sustainable peace in the world. No society should be exposed to terror and suffering. Peace is
an invaluable asset, and this is a reminder of how important it is to work on its
preservation, not only in our immediate surroundings but also around the world.
The foreign policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina is based on peaceful cooperation, promotion of
dialogue, openness, equality, and respect for the principles of constitutionality, sovereignty,
territorial integrity, and the rule of law in all aspects of relations with international
partners. Bosnia and Herzegovina is committed to resolving all disagreements peacefully,
while respecting the principles of international law.
In this regard, I strongly condemn the use of force in resolving open issues. Any
form of violence and terrorism by anyone is unacceptable for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our
country will continue to build its position as an active, principled, and credible subject on the international stage. Even before the escalation of the latest wave of violence, Bosnia and Herzegovina called for achieving a just peace between Israel and Palestine. We remain convinced that this is the only long-term solution.
As a member of the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the Global Coalition to Combat
Terrorism, and a country on the doorstep of the EU and NATO, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, within its capabilities, actively works and participates in combating
terrorism. Our country remains committed to fighting terrorism, violent extremism, and
radicalization in all its forms," said Bećirović.
