Bečarević: The state is being fought for, and we are simply giving away our institutions

(Patria) - The President of the Cantonal Board of the Party for BiH Sarajevo, Almir Bečarević, addressed the Convention tonight, organized by Krug 99 and Čuvari Bosne under the slogan "Bosnia is Ours - Bosnian".

He emphasized that today, significantly more attention is given in the media to less important topics, such as the singing under tents by the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, while some issues that are fundamentally important for the survival of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina are unjustifiably neglected.

- We need to constantly talk to people, because we are becoming passive. The state is being fought for. Institutions are not given away, and we are currently giving them away, simply gifting them.

Don't make waves - that appeared two years ago. Oh, they'll get better, don't make waves. And they are only getting worse and will never get better.

When you take the text from the all-Serbian assembly, besides all those platitudes, the first thing they have in common and what they want is a common educational system. That's their priority, and only then comes infrastructure.

In the last year and a half, I've been hearing about the road via Šćepan Polje every 45 days, and I don't hear about the road to Bihać. Is Bihać in Bosnia?

In all segments, we are on the defensive, because the discourse we should have towards our fellow citizens, I think it is neglected and not loud enough compared to the loudness from the east and west.

There are fewer and fewer of us, people are leaving, and educated ones at that. Finding a craftsman is a real art. We are lagging behind in many things. We need to fight. What makes a state are its institutions, and they are under attack.

An example is the Communications Regulatory Agency (RAK) - they announce a competition, they have five people, there are no constituent peoples there. And they move on. And we are constantly on the defensive.

We will reach a situation where we will become stepchildren in our own country. We must improve it, but with a passive attitude and by showing what someone is doing there, whether they are singing under a tent, rather than learning something from your words, I don't know if we are going in the right direction.

Let's change that direction, so that our fellow citizens feel this country as their own, so that it is not tight for everyone, but spacious - concluded Bečarević.
