Bečarević: The ruling elite is quite nervous, Konaković controls everything

(Patria) - Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton (KS) Almir Bečarević claims there are many problems in KS, but they do not come from the Government, but from outside.

Bečarević says he has been trying to work responsibly all the time, and that he cannot say a bad word about his colleagues from the KS Government, nor about the Prime Minister.

Konaković runs the Canton

- When you start dealing with certain directors, problems arise. Mandić told me yesterday that I am incompetent because a pipe burst, but in fact it is the directors who do not feel the need to inform you.

I didn't even know that works were being carried out in that area. At first, those directors were with me, later they stood on one side, and I on the other, because they were told that no one could remove them.

Konaković told them that no one could remove them, that they could do whatever they wanted. He runs the Sarajevo Canton - said Bečarević.

He emphasizes that he is worried about what will happen to him in the future because, as he says, he knows what he has gotten into, "they are trying to push certain things through the ministry and I did not allow it."

- SBiH should be thrown out of the Government, and we came to work. I am worried about my safety. I reported everything properly - says the minister.

He reveals that an investigation is underway regarding fuel in the Sarajevo Canton.

- They misspent 700,000 KM in Rad. Two family connections manage all processes. You have the Chairman of the Supervisory Board in Rad who is related to Girt, who made a website for Mandić, and Mandić is related to Vera Arnautović, the director of KJKP Rad.

Everything I am saying is facts. I don't hate Vera, but I am saying that there is a Forte decision that whoever turns 66 goes into retirement, and you cannot send her into retirement even at 66 years and 4 months.

I am implementing what we agreed. We received 700,000 KM as a loan for the purchase of machinery, but the machinery was not purchased. The Canton pays the interest, Rad fueled up, and UNDP paid for the fuel, and no one returned that money to the Development Bank. That film will not be watched - says Bečarević.

He emphasizes that Mandić feels the need to say that he was the best minister in the 10 months he spent in the Government:

"If you are going to humiliate me on social networks in that way, of course I will defend myself. Everyone in the KS Government knows what I have done, and then someone slanders you because of a burst pipe because he has a problem, but not because of the pipe, but because of the recall."

Bečarević also touched on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, reminding that he recently cried during an appearance on a TV show.

- Don't let us all cry, let him leave me alone. I am not to blame for Konaković. I saw him crying in some show, don't let us all cry because of one tear. Citizens could be left without heating this year.

I will not resign

I will not resign, they can remove me whenever they want. It is not normal to put pressure on me because a man cannot fulfill a contract.

If something happens to the old boilers on November 30, what will you do in Vogošća? Freeze. I was willing to help fix the old boilers, but I won't give money. They are asking me for money, I can give them money, melt away in three minutes and that's it, but I will not give money for something that does not exist - said Bečarević.

He adds that there is a problem on Bjelašnica, and reveals that it is planned to have as many as 17,000 people up there.

- Up there, the problem is water. The previous minister Delić wrote an act and gave those people what they needed to fulfill. When it came time to do it, it turned out that what was needed was not fulfilled.

We returned it and asked that the Ministry of Communal Economy sign that everything was done according to Delić's document. Everything is connected in a certain way. There are things that can be solved, but you cannot force it.

A 50 percent increase in water cannot be forced. On the first day, I wanted to resign because they asked me to immediately increase the price of water by 50 percent. I do not want to do anything illegal, and they are praying to God to get rid of me.

If we are going to work on boilers, let's cancel the tender, announce a new one, but the contractor is afraid whether he will pass. They are offering boilers that do not exist. I have reported everything in the last 2-3 months. The Office for the Fight against Corruption is asking for evidence, I am handing it over.

I asked for the biography of the current director of Sarajevogas, they didn't give it to me, I cannot influence, they won't let me. Konaković controls everything.

I experienced the greatest pressure after the 'historic session of the Council of Ministers' because I said in your show 'Investigation of the Week' that the Southern and Eastern interconnections are a mere lie.

Today, a woman from the Waterworks came to me, almost crying, it's torture. Let them build 100,000 apartments on Bjelašnica, I have nothing against it, but if I have a four-page letter from Delić with remarks regarding water out of fear of what will happen, my people - I will never go against that paper. That paper is OK, but no one will sign that everything has been done as he wrote - states Bečarević.

Finally, he said that the ruling elite is quite nervous.

- The nervousness is with them, you saw the attitude towards your journalist. What kind of behavior was that? There is nervousness, but don't take it out on me. I have gone to the Prosecutor's Office several times, but I never received an envelope as a defendant, but as a witness - said Bečarević for the show "Dobar dan BiH" on Hayat television.
